Able to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the philosophy, principles and ethics of the profession, while maintaining a critical perspective on the role of the professional in society.
The Editors Canada President's Award for Volunteer Service recognizes outstanding service to the organization by member volunteers. In June 2020, I received the award along with five other Canadian editors.
As a volunteer advisor with the Vancouver Foundation, I serve on the advisory committee and review applications for Arts and Culture funding, and have advised the Foundation on the development of their new funding structure (announced in July 2018). I also participate in pre- and post-granting community initiative activities.
