Student, Alumni & Employer ‘Talking Head’ Testimonial Videos

As a part of the UBC Faculty of Arts ePortfolio initiative, I interviewed students, alumni, and employers of new Arts graduates about their experiences with online portfolios. Because building a portfolio of work isn't a norm in many Arts disciplines--unlike, say, the disciplines of teaching or pharmacy--these videos were designed to help students see the value in collecting and presenting their work for a non-academic audience.

Our team's still-expanding corpus of 'talking head' videos currently includes five interviews with students, three with employers, and two with alumni. We've also made a shorter compilation video that features excerpts from employers.

My role in the development of the videos included recruiting interviewees, performing the interviews, selecting the elements of the interviews to include, reviewing drafts of the edited videos, and disseminating the videos so they can reach their target audience.
