Occupational Therapy (OT), for those who aren't aware, is similar to Physical Therapy (PT), except that a PT generally works with their client's body, while an OT works with a client's environment.
I spend most of my time proofreading and editing grant proposals and article manuscripts, drawing on the principles of plain language and design. I also:
- advise on teaching grants and awards;
- assist with budget preparation and justification;
- create clear, compelling visuals;
- review application components to ensure adherence to funding opportunity guidelines and UBC policies;
- update and advise on the strategic use of Canadian Common CVs;
- identify new, relevant funding opportunities; and
- develop milestone-based timelines for grant application drafting and submission.
